Western Chester County and Lancaster: Take Route 896 through Newark, Del., and turn left at the grain mills north of Middletown, Del., to head to Route 13 S. Follow Route 13 S. to the Route 1 Bypass ($1 toll) and take the bypass to Route 113 at Dover Air Force Base. Take Route 113 to Milford, Del. From there, follow the directions below to your favorite beach.
To Ocean City, Maryland: At Milford, stay on Route 113 S. all the way to the Delaware-Maryland line. For North Ocean City, take Route 113 to Route 54 and head east along the Delaware-Maryland state line. For central Ocean City, take Route 113 to Route 90 east across the bridge. To Delaware Beaches: At Milford, take Route 1 south all the way to the beaches. Lewes, Rehoboth, Dewey, Bethany, South Bethany and Fenwick are all located on Route 1. (Note: If you are driving to Bethany, South Bethany or Fenwick on a Saturday afternoon, you can avoid the Lewes-Rehoboth-Dewey traffic jams by taking Route 113 at Milford and driving south to Route 26 in Dagsboro. Route 26 takes you to Route 1 in Bethany and you can turn south on Route 1 for South Bethany and Fenwick).

Take Route 1 south to Lewes, Rehoboth or Dewey.
To Bethany, South Bethany and Fenwick Island: Follow Route 50 to Route 404 in Denton, Md., and continue on Route 404 into Sussex County, Delaware, and Route 18. Take Route 18 to Route 113 in Georgetown and head south to Route 26 in Dagsboro. Take Route 26 straight into Bethany. To reach South Bethany and Fenwick, head south on Route 1 at the end of Route 26.
